Michael David Tolliver, also known by his stage name, "Ak", was born on the south side streets of Chicago, Illinois On October 1, 1985. His father was a local blues singer who sang at a local club called "Milts" in Chicago where his mother worked as a waitress. As a result, young Ak was primarily rooted in the Jazz and Blues era listening to such artists as Brook Benton, Dinah Washington, Muddy Waters, Otis Redding, B.B King, Eric Clapton, Kenny G and the list continues on!

From a young age, Ak and his microphone were inseparable. He entertained and people loved him! In 1997 Ak, only 12 years old, moved to Phoenix to escape the violence and crime in his hometown of Chicago. It was during this time that Ak first started listening to hip-hop music.

At the age of 15, Ak's father was diagnosed with cancer. Two weeks later he passed away at the age of 66. Ak started to write poetry as a way to escape the pain he felt due to his fathers passing. As the years progressed, he started to become more determined and focused in molding his craft and he recognized his own potential.

Ak has participated in public live shows at clubs and created mix tapes with other local artists. He continues to expand and grow with his producer, D. Hendrix. They have a new project that will be released called R.A.P Therapy. R.A.P is his own creative acronym for RAP: Ridiculous Acts and Propaganda's.....
